Advent Calendars
Heya!
So, this is my first post for the grizzly gazette advent calendar.
Unoriginal as I am, I've decided to talk about... well, advent calendars!
This is a rather blindingly obvious topic choice, so lets hope there's not too many other people that are doing this.
So! I'm quite fond of them. As you might be able to tell from me organizing an advent calendar event. Though, to be honest: It's been... Honestly, I can't remember the last time I've actually used an advent calendar. Mostly, that's out of lazyness. And due to them just objectively having pretty bad value for money. As much as I do enjoy them, I can't bring myelf to spend money for 24 really shitty chocolates, or pieces of plastic I know I won't particularly enjoy.
I do still like them though! I just its just that commercial advent calendars are a tad... predictable, if that makes sense? They've usually got a pretty strong theme, and you know all you'll be getting is cheap garbage usually, unless you've got like an absurdly expensive one. They're normally not all that inspired. I've never really been suprised by the contents a commercial advent calendar.
One thing I really appreciate advent calendars for, no matter the variety, is simply just the act of adding some whimsy into your life. You get something small to look forward to, they do a great job at cutting through the monotony and giving you one at least midly unpredictable surprise every day. They also do a great job of putting you in that christmas mood. They're a great way to, y'know, do something at least mildly christmas-themed every day. That's the easiest way to feel that holiday cheer, y'know. To do christmas-y stuff.
So, hopefully you'll enjoy this advent calendar! Even if you don't celebrate christmas, it's still fun to have something like this to look forward to, I think. Schedule-wise I've tried my best to make sure there's not too many repeat days here where there's the same blogger posting something twice in a row. I think the only time that happens is with me? Anyways, happy holidays, and I hope you enjoy the rest of the gazette advent calendar! Bear blog advent calendar? I'm writing this well in advance, so I have no clue what I'll be calling the thing. I should've probably figured that out before writing the post here.
