spice tolerance is a scam

Hey, so, spice tolerance is a scam, right? I sometimes see people bragging about how high their spice tolerance is, how spicy of a meal they can eat without breaking a sweat, but like... What's the point? Like, the reason you eat spicy food is to feel the spice. Getting higher spice tolerance just means you need more spice to get the same effect. Granted, I don't have the greatest spice tolerance, so i may be a bit biased, not knowing what's on the other side and all, but I do like spicy food. It's just that when I eat something really spicy, I'm mentally prepared to be actively dying for the next hour. That's real commitment to spicy food. By eatings tons of spicy food, having high spice tolerance, you are ridding yourself of the experience of feeling like you've just ascended to another plane of existence after having had some buldak ramen.

And you might say: "Kami, that's a really stupid opinion to have" And you might be right. Maybe this isn't as common sense of a position to have as i think. Maybe, just maybe...

It's actually a hot take.
A spicy take, even.

Alright, but seriously. If you've got good spice tolerance, tell me. I need to know. What's the point? Besides challenging yourself, i suppose. But like, does it actually make your spicy food experience more enjoyable? Because to me it does just seem like you're tasting less of the food.
