stuff I've been up to, also some minor guestbooks news

Heya!

Again, it's been a while.
Well, 9 days.
Right now is a really busy time for me IRL, which means this blog is getting kind of neglected. I just wanted to write something now, to sort of get back on track and help cure some mild writers block I have.

Anyways! I've been doing some work on the guestbook website I talked about! We're making progress! As far as the technical side goes, I only really have to implement some account management stuff, privacy policy change notifications and the invite system. There'll still be docs to write after that, and I'll have to actually host the damn thing, but as far as programming goes, we'll hopefully be far enough along at the end of this month that I'll be able to do a closed beta of sorts. Software takes time, who'd've thunk.

Apart from that, I've been getting into Warframe again! I've been trying to grind for gauss, and it's been a pretty good time :3 I've already got all of the parts, all that remains is upping my cetus reputation so I can buy the materials needed to craft them.

I've also been doing some work on the guestbooks app!
Specifically, we can IP ban people now!
Yay!
I've also started work on the system that will notify users of privacy policy updates.
Rather dull, but hey. If you wanna do these things properly you're gonna have to deal with some boring legal stuff. One neat thing about the way I'll be implementing the privacy policy update system is that it's gonna be very easy to show users a history of every privacy policy ever published on the site. Transparency! Admins can also only overwrite old privacy policies with new ones, so it'll be harder to deliberately try and obfuscate changes that have been made. Granted, I'm going to have to implement a feature for hiding old policies, simply because otherwise It'd be rather easy for bad actors to abuse the feature and show stuff on the frontend with no way to remove it apart from manually editing the database. But still, unless you modify the software or run delete queries manually, there should always be a continuous history of privacy policy changes. Which, that's kind of neat i think. I'll probably also add an RSS feed that keeps track of those changes, because RSS feeds are fun.

Anyways, that's it from me today.
Maybe I'll do another one of these tomorrow!
Who knows!

Cya!
