The drafts i never published
So, It's been about... 3 months since I started this blog? Huh, longer than I expected. Anyways, even though I usually post pretty much anything I write, there have been a few posts that never made it past the draft stage in that time. Some of them I wasn't particularly happy with, some I just felt like I missed the right timing to publish. Still, I think they deserve to see the light of day in some form or another - So, in this post I'll talk about the ones that didn't make it, and why exactly I ended up scrapping them. Hope you enjoy :3
How to play YuGiOh (And why you should)
I really like YGO. Sadly, the game is really hard to get into. And honestly, I think that's mostly due to none of the new player guides being all that approachable. I was going to make a guide that explained all the rules in this post. Then I got started and realized that YGO is really really difficult to explain given the restrictions of a blogpost. None of the mechanics are really that difficult to actually do, but explaining them via text makes them sound wayy more intimidating than they actually are. If I had the skill to maybe make some accompanying animated gifs or something, this mightve worked out. As it is, probably wouldn't have worked all that great.
ranking pride flags based on how cool they look
So, a few posts ago I mentioned I had the idea to do a pride flag tier list of sorts, ranking how much I like the design of each one. Never ended up doing it. I actually started writing the posts and got like three or so flags in before stopping, because I'm not really much of a flag expert and kind of felt like the post would just be extremely boring to read through. Looking at it again with hindsight, it's actually pretty decent. So, maybe I'll go back to this one and actually finish it.
Kami ranks every Kami's Corner
So, as it turns out, there's actually a couple other blogs that share the name "Kami's Corner". I was going to rank them all in a post. It all started because I found a webcomic also named Kami's Corner whose author was oddly similiar to me. I honestly forgot why I didn't end up writing this one.
Kami plays Ao Oni & Kami plays Rimworld
Two different posts in one here, because their story is pretty much the same. I tried doing a text let's play because I thought it'd fun, but found out fairly quickly that that was very tedious to write and quite boring to read. The original idea was to do a sort of fusion between just a regular walkthrough and me sort of poking fun at the events happening ingame. I still think there's something here, you can definitely make this sort of thing work, there's a reason boatmurdered got quite popular, for example. I'm just pretty bad at writing this style of post.
Whenever I write Java™, i can feel a part of me dying
I really don't like Java. It's probably one of the worst programming languages that are still in use today. I was going to make a post talking about all the things I dislike about it, but quickly discovered that I also really don't like talking about Java. This language drains my soul whenever I even talk about it. Don't use Java.
Ranking every bearblog post ever made
This was right around the time pondscum made that post ranking a bunch of trending posts. I thought it was really good, and wanted to make my own spin of it. So, I foolishly thought "Why not make a series where I try ranking all of them in chronological order?" Well... Problem is, most bearblog posts aren't really all that interesting. I don't have much to say about most of the things that end up in the newest section of bearblog. So, after getting about 25 posts in, i ended up scrapping this one because I was getting seriously burnt out writing the first part, I didnt think it turned out all that interesting.
It's like quora but way worse - Kami answers the dumbest questions on the web
On this one, I was going to translate & respond to a bunch of really really stupid questions on the german equivalent of quora: Gutefrage.net. I still think the concept has some promise, but I just couldn't really figure out a great way to do it. Most of the questions are so innane and stupid that there isn't really a way to respond besides just "Look how dumb this question is. Isn't that funny?". Maybe I'll figure out a better way of doing this at some point. I do still really want to do this one.
Alright, that's it for now. I do still have a couple of unpublished drafts left that I could talk about, but we gotta call it a day somewhere. Hopefully you enjoyed reading this! If you really like any of these ideas, feel free to tell me and I might give it another go. I think I'm going to try actually writing a couple of these at some point in the future. Doing this post has kind of made me excited about these ideas ideas again. Or you can try writing some of these yourself, I guess. If you do that, email me your post so I can read it. Anyways, we'll see. Maybe you end up actually seeing some of these get published on this blog at some point.
Thanks for reading!
