Website Manifesto
I found this blog post by Emily Barwick, and thought that it was kind of a neat idea to have a website manifesto. So, here's mine :3
This blog is a message in a bottle, not a curated garden.
I will not ever edit anything i post beyond correcting spelling/grammar errors. Yes, that includes this post.
I will not delete anything. (Except for things that would actively harm me if I left them up, i.e. If i accidentally doxx myself)
I don't want to care whether or not my writing helps others. I am writing primarily for myself because that's the kind of blog i enjoy reading the most - the ones that feel like listening in on someone else's thoughts & conversations. The ones that were clearly written without the expectation of anyone finding them.
I enjoy my privacy, so I want to be careful with what i share.
I don't care if what i post is good as long as it is human.
I will write about what I want to write. I will not write about anything else.
I will try not to be deliberately self indulgent or to try too hard to 'look smart' for the sake of it. That sort of pseudo intellectualism is what i hate most.
I won't pretend to know what I'm talking about when I do not know what I'm talking about.
